I have been a graphic designer for 14 years since graduating with a degree in graphic design in 1987. I've spent many years of my career working for the graphics company, Dynamic Graphics, Inc. There I worked in several design departments, including the Marketing Communications department where I learned valuable marketing skills. I designed all kinds of promotional material for the company, as well as creating how-to information for two of the company's publications. In addition, I designed for another publication called Dynamic Graphics Magazine.
I put my career on hold for a while to pursue my other interest: parenting. While at home, I became involved in children's arts and crafts and taught classes out of my home. I managed the Kid's Craft table at Chillicothe's Second Street Market for two summers and I occasionally hold craft workshops.
Most recently, I've committed to designing freelance. My husband and I have created Mars Prime Design, which permits each of us to utilize our individual design strengths and create the best possible material for our clients.

My first professional job out of college was with Multi-Ad Services, Inc. I freelanced for them as a Keyliner before getting hired as a full-time employee in January of 1989. After 3 years in Keyline I saw my chance to move into the Design department.
In the 7 years I spent in the Design department at Multi-Ad I saw quite a lot of change in my skills. I gained extensive knowledge of design programs for the Mac and often supplied my department with tech support. I had the opportunity to design a variety of materials for a variety of clients. I was also fortunate to be requested by several clients. Eventually, I became involved in designing for the web and knew this was the area I wanted to pursue. After 10-plus years at Multi-Ad, I decided to leave and pursue Web design at a company called Cyberdesic, Inc., an internet consulting firm.
I've spent over 3 years developing my skills at interface design for the Internet. Most of my time has been spent designing things the public can't view like Intranets and Extranets, but at the same time I was allowed to design quite a few Internet sites. I feel as though there is still more to discover about the Internet, so I'm eager to learn more about designing for it. I'm glad I made the switch when I did 3 1/2 years ago. It's been a great experience to be a part of Internet development.
Most recently, my wife and I have put our talents together and created Mars Prime Design, allowing us to further continue our growth in the graphic design and internet field.
